One of the students’ favorite activities at DTA is club time. Each Tuesday, the students remain after
school, from 4:00 – 5:00 pm. They get to choose from one of many activities. Some
are sports and some are geared to the arts.

This year, there are five choices. Mr. Yechiel Sudranski, a school parent is running
soccer club and coach Benji is in charge of the basketball club. The children are enjoying the sports and also building their physical fitness and skills.

Ms. Rachel, DTA’s Art Teacher, is working with the schools most talented artists in
art club. They are experimenting with a number of different styles of art and are enjoying each one of the styles. Dr. Ellen Royer, DTA’s middle school ELA teacher is also the school’s choirmaster.
Each year, DTA’s choir performs all over town and Dr. Royer is busy preparing them for their performances. The last club, yearbook, is run by school parent and volunteer Mr. Shimon Aberman along with Mrs. Shawn Goldblatt. The members of the club are basically responsible to create the entire yearbook. They are busy writing articles and taking beautiful pictures.

DTA would really like to thank all the club leaders and commend the students for
developing each of their talents.

The mission of Desert Torah Academy is to provide the Jewish children of Southern
Nevada with an outstanding Judaic/Hebrew and Secular education. DTA staff will promote students’ growth as active learners; respectful, responsible citizens; and independent
thinkers. Through a stimulating and safe learning environment, our students will grow in appreciation of Jewish tradition and culture while being prepared for success in high school and life in the
world community.
